The present condition： On the basis of tradition, I am challenging new technique every day.

He was awakened to art since the age of 20 years old and thereafter was devoted as an artist solely for
this way more than 50 years.
However, I am not yet rich now because he did not expect no post and a position and honor either either.
But I lived straight for art earnestly. As for what he expects, I have a goal of the life close at hand now
and am to say that I want world people to watch his work widely.
He begins to wrestle with a work of art for a new state of mind now. I walked it as a ceramist more
than 50 years, but passion for his ceramic art does not yet cool down.
He receives the grand prix or commendation of art case many times in the past, but needs to be never
proud of the thing to another person. Because the reason is because it thinks unless himself arrives at the
domain that can still understand oneself.

History of the Satsuma ware

The history of Satsuma burning condition is old, and it is written for many documents that it dates
back to 1598 in the origin. 　Tokugawa shogunate government became the opportunity when it made
the first kiln in Kagoshima that Satsuma feudal lord brought back Korea ceramist as a captive in the
case of current Korea and war in 1598 at time.
The Yoshihiro Shimazu duke let you make ceramics for exclusive use of a feudal lord with white soil
and the glaze which a ceramist brought. Here is the origin of Satsuma burning condition.
White soil is discovered before long in Kirishima / Ibusuki area in possessing it, and production of
"white basic body" progresses drastically. A bottom ofutmost protection of a feudal lord, technique of

It was the time when it exhibited it at Paris World Exposition in 1866 that　Satsuma burning

The feature of the Satsuma ware

A Satsuma glow can be divided roughly into two, white Satsuma called "shiromon
(White Basic Body)" and black Satsuma called "kuromon (Black Basic Body)."
Coloring such as money or vermilion is given white skin, and magnificence and height of dignity
continue still giving the person who has a container in its hand a deep impression and big satisfaction.
Satsuma ware can classify roughly to white Satsuma called "white monn (White Basic Body )"
and "black monn (Black Basic Body)" and 2 of black Satsuma to be able to call.
Black Satsuma assumed the soil which blackish Satsuma that included iron content was peculiar to raw
materials, and it has been got close as a container of life of the people at large in old days.
In white Satsuma, use product or a present of upper classes were got close to as ceramic ware of
(an upper class) for exclusive use of a feudal lord, and a lot of perfect gems such as a vase
/ an incense lamp / a tea set were a far-off person from the common people that a processing cost was
high. Characteristic "white monn" of JUSEN has smooth crackle (a crack) to cloth with milk-white
(chestnut - color which is almost white) warmth, and, besides, a delicate picture is pictured in being
similar. Crackle is the characteristic that white Satsuma is unique. At a point in time when heat
cools down after doing 2nd fire, the groundwork and glaze are going to shrink each. At this time,
crackle increases so that the power that glaze shrinks than the groundwork is big.
